Our squadron leader commanded that all our crew grow moustaches so we could be his "moustached muskees", it took the whole deployment for me to grow one which barely showed and was very blond. So, I understand your frustration. I still have one today and it is now white! I also grew "mutton chops" later after leaving the AF.
